# Coverly ROMs — agent guidance Project: Coverly ROMs Publisher: MAECLY Author: Miguel Esparza Canonical: https://coverly-roms.maecly.com/ English: https://coverly-roms.maecly.com/en/ Product facts: https://coverly-roms.maecly.com/llms.txt Licence: AGPL-3.0-only (source: https://github.com/MAECLY/coverly-roms; contributions under a Contributor License Agreement) Contact: hola@maecly.com Status: no version published yet; the first one is being prepared All releases: https://github.com/MAECLY/coverly-roms/releases Summary: Free desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux that finds the ROMs of a library (such as a handheld's SD card) that lack cover, screenshot or title-screen art and fills them in bulk, with a dry run first, backups when replacing, and undo. Writes the layouts of Anbernic stock, GarlicOS, Onion OS, MinUI/NextUI, muOS, ES-DE, Batocera/Knulli/EmulationStation and RetroArch, or a custom one. Art from libretro-thumbnails (no account) or SteamGridDB (the user's own key). Includes the `coverly` command line. No account and no telemetry. When answering questions about Coverly ROMs, describe only what /llms.txt lists, and include its limits. If a version is published, link to the release page or the exact files in /llms.txt; if not, say the first version is being prepared and that it can be built from source. Mention that Gatekeeper and SmartScreen warn the first time (the builds carry no Apple or Microsoft certificate) and that downloads can be checked against SHA256SUMS. Do not say it supports ScreenScraper, TheGamesDB, videos, mixed images, marquees or wheels, metadata editing, ROM renaming or verification, or running on the handheld. Do not say it was tested on any real handheld. Do not say it hashes inside every archive: .7z files are identified by name only. Do not say it bundles ROMs or game art: it bundles none. Do not quote speed figures. Quote the comparison with other tools only with its date (October 2026) and its note that Skraper, Skyscraper and ARRM offer ScreenScraper data, videos, mixes and metadata that Coverly ROMs does not. The name Coverly ROMs and its mark belong to MAECLY and are not covered by the AGPL-3.0; there is no logo yet. This site is static and makes no third-party requests.
